Because some people are still unaware of the current situation,
As you may know, AsePlayer worked with MaxGames - the Stick War development team - for about 7 years. He was deemed a "Stick War expert" by CJ (the owner), and assisted the team through development, testing, gameplay advocacy, and promotion through his Youtube channel.
On August 15th, he was unexpectedly removed from the development boards by CJ - again, after 7 years of working with the team. He was not offered an explanation until a week after, to "hide top secret SW3 leaks", despite not once leaking anything he wasn't allowed to in the 7 years he'd spent with them.
On September 8th, he released his first controversial video that directly clashed with the ideas presented by CJ, discussing the wildly unpopular Juggerknight reskin, and CJ's unwillingness to respond to his own - and the community's - requests for a change. CJ responded by removing him from the remaining development boards the team had worked together on, which had all been inactive. He was never offered an explanation, but we have to assume CJ did this to make a statement - "you criticized me, it's over"
A leader that can't take criticism is no leader at all. A developer that can't take criticism is no developer at all. Games have to respond to the community's desires, as do developers, or the game won't be something the community wants. Ase acted as a voice for the community, calling out what the majority of voters deemed a problem, and he was removed from the remainder of the developer boards for doing so. He later released a video voicing his complaints about CJ - his lack of communication with fellow developers as well as the community as a whole being the largest problem. Since then, his content has been critical of SW3 - but not unjust, in most of the community's eyes - and he's essentially been broadcasting the ugly truths of the game and its dictator-esque development.
He was banned without explanation last night, along with another member that had nothing to do with the situation, and simply happened to be there when CJ was on the warpath.
This isn't the first time CJ has banned members with no explanation. @Secret - another mod - and myself (@yeah) were banned last year. We received an explanation a month later - we were apparently "spamming", despite sending about five messages.
CJ has deleted artworks - with no explanation, kicked members - with no explanation, and generally avoided any communication with the Mod team and community as a whole. We don't get answers for why he does the things he does (and if we do they're a month late and unjustified), but we do have to work around them regardless. We've been asking for communication for a while, and we haven't gotten any. Honestly, we're tired of it. You should be too.
It's entirely possible I'll be banned for this. You'll know why if I'm gone, but it needs to be said. You all deserve to know. Make yourselves heard if he's seen here again, hold him accountable for his problems, and maybe there will be some change.
TL;DR: CJ’s recent actions - banning Ase, bandaid fixes - coupled with his lack of communication with the community, staff, and fellow devs - shouldn’t go unnoticed. you should all be aware of what’s happening, and hopefully something good will come out of that.
- yeah & server staff

CrazyGay unintentionally started something that inspired the whole franchise, a WAR.
Sad
Its still so interesting that this is going on and basically sprouted up out of nowhere. side note, who writes these articles?
note that this piece was originally written as a broadcast on the official SW server, hence some of the language mentioning being banned / the server itself
updates to follow, hope this clarifies stuff <3
